Sometimes I want to Scream.

Hey everyone!

Thank you for all of your well wishes. I am finally feeling no longer dying better! Just in time for Halloween. Whoo hoo. And as much as I hated my immune system, I at least have to give it props on the timing. I would have been depressed having to miss Halloween. And like my hubs says, you know I am better when I have my sassiness back :) And boy, is it back. Today especially.

Columbus drivers honestly make me crazy. And not just any crazy. I am talking about the wanting-to-rip-my-hair-out crazy. So crazy, that not even a Britney song can save me at that point.

I am not kidding when I say that I always manage to get stuck behind the 90 year old people who shouldn’t be on the road driving 20 miles an hour. Or next to the semi-truck drivers who have death wishes and I’m convinced want to kill me. Or the dude in the clunker that is just cruising, taking his damn time bumping music so loud that you can’t even enjoy it. Then there are also those people who forget that their car came equipped with a turn signal.

And then comes my favorite: if there is any form of precipitation everyone LOSES THEIR COMMON SENSE and completely forgets how to drive (if they even knew how in the first place).

I am SO not looking forward to the next 5 months of my life on the road. AT ALL.

But what i AM looking forward to is the WEEKEND! I will post more on that later this week, including our plans and costumes ;)

HAPPY WEDNESDAY EVERYONE!

An Open Letter

Dear Immune System,

I miss you. You should have left a note before you decided to take a permanent leave of absence. Not only did I start not feeling well a few weeks ago, but this sore throat is the worst I've ever had in my life. And between the angry throat and the vengeful sinuses alone, this week has been not be so great, to put it mildly.

So, contrary to what you may have read in whatever magazines you subscribe to in there, human beings need air to breathe. I think it's okay for me to speak for the rest of my body when I say...

GET TO WORK. DO YOUR JOB. STEP IT UP. THIS ISN'T GOING TO CLEAR UP BY ITSELF!

Also, if you could please explain to everyone that has been forced to be around me this week, why 1) I have been unable to function and 2) Why I have wet hair, no makeup, and look like I have been run over by a train...that would be cool.

Kisses.

Your host,

Edited to Add- I thankfully don't have h1n1, it's a respiratory infection treatable by antibiotics.

Oh, it's good to be married!

We have all had our share of bad dates? Right? Well after recently reading about my friend's worst date story, I decided that I needed to share my own.

Well, here it is, My Worst Date Ever:

My worst date EVER was with a guy I met in one of my classes in college. I had heard that he liked me so I decided it was worth a shot to get to know him better. Not to mention that he did not only look like a younger version of John F. Kennedy Jr., but was also super smart in class. We planned on meeting at a well-known, upscale restaurant about 30 minutes away.

As a safety precaution, I told him that afterwards I had to head home because I had to study was a little under the weather. I could always have a miraculous recovery if we hit it off!

When I showed up at the restaurant, as I was walking in, I saw him sitting at a bar taking a shot. Yes. True Story. I had to do a double take. Was my date really slamming shots? I really wanted to turn and run for my dear life, but much to my misfortune, he already saw me and started waving obnoxiously. By obnoxiously, I mean he had both hands straight up into the air, swinging them back and fourth like a baboon. Grrrreat. It was too late to pretend that I didn't know him. As I walked closer to the bar, beat red I am sure, I could clearly tell that he was already bordering on wildly intoxicated. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life. After greeting me, or I should say sloppily hugging, he informed me that he done a few shots prior to my arrival to “calm [his] nerves.” WTF? Who does that?

Anyway, moving on, I collected my composure and sat down, as he offered to buy me a drink. While I opted for a glass of wine, he ordered a beer & a Cherry Bomb. {uh-huh, a serious class act this dude is} As he slammed the latter & started in on the former, he continually asked me why I was "nursing" my drink. Really? This is a date, not a frat party. What did he want me to do, keg stands? At that moment I seriously began to question my decision to participate in the date but soldiered on nonetheless.

The hostess finally cautiously approached us to tell us our table was ready. Amazing. I had to eat dinner and pretend to make conversation with a drunken fool. This should be interesting. I ate my food in record time. 15 minutes. I literally inhaled my crab cakes while the wild man kept slurring words and downing drinks. Very charming and attractive at it's best, if I do say so myself. He also rambled on about what a great 'connection' he had. {I assume he was referring to the alcohol, and NOT me}

Suddenly feeling "ill" and remembering I had to study, I asked for our check. After apologizing profusely to our understandably bewildered but bewilderingly understanding waitress, we left.

Feeling sorry for this hot mess express, I offered to take him home. When we finally made it back to his driveway, he seemed to think nothing had gone wrong. Before exiting the car, he casually asked me for another date. Before I could push him out scream NO, he explained that he needed our next date to be in his “neck of the woods” because he had gotten a DUI few weeks ago and couldn’t “really continue driving long distances without a license.” Dear Jesus. What a class act. Tres classy, no?

I told him absolutely not, asked him to get out of the car and told him never to call me again.

Fast forward to next morning when I was awakened by three text messages. Not to apologize. To see if I wanted to hang out again. {I am being serious as a heart attack.}
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ __ _ _ _

On a good note, I am now married to a man who plans out-of-this-world dates. (BONUS) And who prefers to go on them sober. (DOUBLE bonus)

Your turn- share your worst date story! I want to hear I am not alone.

Our Weekend in Pictures

Fall has always been my favorite season and so this past weekend we decided to go out and fully ejoy it before it starts to get cold and snowy! I love the smell in the air, the cold wind, the dark days and the colorful trees. It's beautifuuuuuuuuuul.

Stimulating the economy one vacation at a time

Happy Monday to all! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, and like me anticipating the next! This weekend was perfect! My little sister came down and stayed with us the whole entire weekend. I totally loved every single second of it. I literally contemplated ways to kidnap her and keep her here. She is currently in college 2.5 hours away :( I miss the days our rooms used to be divided by one wall and not 200 miles. Hopefully, when she graduates she can job search here! I mean she has no choice. I have already began networking for her. It's never too soon :)

And the weather here has been just beautiful. I cannot tell you how much I love fall fashion weather. We took Charlie for a walk yesterday and I snapped some of the most beautiful pictures of the different color foliage. I will post those as soon as I get a chance.

But on another note, as much as I love fall, I am not too thrilled that winter is coming. So, I have been itching to start planning our next vacation. I mean, why do people always vacation in the summer? I have always been a proponent of vacations in the winter when it's freezing here, and getting away to someplace warm. Right? Over the weekend, I picked up a ton of brochures, so we will see if the pretty pictures can sway hubs to cave. He thinks we need to save $$ because we are in a recession. I, on the other hand, think we need to stimulate the economy and get away. Now, I just need him to see my point of view (which is clearly the right one).

But you see, I am not to blame for my traveling addiction. The source to blame, would be my parents. They spoiled me rotten by taking me away to far off lands where I enjoyed myself too much.

My parents took me on my first vacation when I was 4 months old and it all goes downhill from there. Up until I was 11 we went on two vacations a year, for three or four weeks at a time. From there on out, as I got older we couldn’t take that much time off school and we stuck to one long vacation in the summer and one short one during Christmas break. In my 25 years of existence, there has not been one year where I haven’t taken a trip.

Some people are addicted to shopping, some to alcohol, some to gambling, or sniffing aerosols. Me? Hi, I’m Mrs. Newlywed and I’m addicted to traveling. But on the bright side I can say that I guess it’s a good thing my addictions aren’t life threatening or harmful to others … right?

Now excuse me while I go put on my sunglasses and make myself a frozen margarita.

Confession

I have been an awful blogger as of recent.

Awful, no good, very, very bad.

And if you are still reading my blog, I am sorry about neglecting you all! I wish I had a good excuse for it, but I really don't. I have been pretty busy and a little sickies, but that is not excuse. And I take full responsibility for my actions or lack there of.

So what has been new with me? Let's see... this weekend I went back to my alma mater with my girls for HOMECOMING and it was amazing! Let me tell you how fun it is going back and pretedning to be in college again! I loved it. It was great to be able to go to our old stomping grounds and relive some of the best times of our lives, even if just for a day. I am already planning next year's trip, haha. I can't wait to do it all over again!

My old sorority composite-- can you find me ? :)

Want to see our baby?

There comes a time in every young girl's life when she begins to wonder what her children might look like. And now that I know who the father will be, I no longer have to wonder...thanks to my creepiness Morphthing :)

(in case anyone else wants to waste some time it's Morphthing.com)

And here is our result- a little blue eyed, blonde haired baby. Pretty cute, huh?!
[Except for the weird lips... i think i cropped those wrong.]

Happy Thursday, everyone!

I'm completely neurotic

Happy Monday, lovelies!

I am going to take a small break from making fun of talking about my hubs and make this post about one of the many crazy things I do.

I have always believed that the way you treat your pets is a good indication of what sort of parent you will be. Right? Makes sense.

Well, in my case, this is very a bit disturbing.

Why, you ask? Well, because, believe it or not, I have a tendency to sometimes, okay all the time, be psychotically overbearing when it comes to the love of my life, my sassy little 13 pound furbaby Charlie.

Case in point- when he was VERY little, I would feel his nose pproximately three times an hour to make sure it wasn't hot, and even now I glance over to make sure he's breathing when he naps on the couch.

I am also ashamed to admit that one time I frantically rushed Charlie to the vet because he 'felt hot' and I thought he was running a life-threatening fever. The vet then informed me that it's 'normal' for dogs to feel warm because their body temp is much higher than ours. [What? I didn't know!]

There is more to this obsessive behavior.

In more recent news, I have spent hours googling 'coyotes in Ohio' to make sure that Charlie does not become the next Daisy Simpson. :(

Also, I may or may not have a pair of these currently in my shopping cart... Ummm, who wants to walk around barefoot in the wintertime?

I know I am just weird, but is anyone else completely neurotic about their furbaby?

The Heart of Autumn
Has anyone seen my fall? Anyone? Because here in Ohio it feels like winter. It's almost as if someone flipped the switch and sent us right to 50-60 degree weather and didn’t even ease us in to fall.

I don’t mind much though. Fall is my favorite season. It’s cool but not cold and I find the brisk air refreshing. And fall in Ohio is perfect.

So I plan to enjoy it while it lasts.

I’m ready for scarves and boots. Tights and hats. A new fall coat. Fall television. Cardigans. Hot chocolate and chicken noodle soup. But not together though, duh. I’m ready for the changing leaves. My puppy barking at and chasing the fallen ones. Taking long walks. Cuddling under blankets.

I just hope that it’s longer than two weeks before we are plummeted into the brutal winter that makes me hate my life. For me, the perfect year would be something like this: Summer Fall Christmas Spring.

****
p.s. I want to send out a big congrats to my two bloggie friends Princess Hailey and Miss I Dew who are both tying the knot this weekend! Congratulations lovelies and you both will make such beautiful brides! :)
