You see, my
He will literally wear the same things for ever and ever and ever, amen.
Don't believe me? Take a look. The
2005
2005 again
::cries::
Honestly I just don't get it. Do you see me wearing that fugly white & pink dress I wore in 2005? HECK no. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the versatility of a blue polo. But for crying out loud??? Enough is enough. Because that blue polo neeeeeeeeds to retire.like.now.
Well, lucky for hubs, I like to shop. I do it often and I do it well. I’m also the person everyone consults when they need help picking out outfits. So, this weekend I am going on a decade overdue shopping spree for him.
And this post has made me wonder if it would be better or worse to have a husband who liked to shop. Do any of you girlfriends and wives have this issue with your men? Do men who LIKE to shop for clothes REALLY exist??
2006!!
2007
2009
[and rest assured that he did not forgo wearing that fab polo in 2008. I just surprisingly cannot find a picture with him in it from that year. ]

haha. If I didn't buy new clothes for my husband (or if his mom didn't) - he wouldn't have any new clothes. ever. I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteGreg likes to shop... sometimes I wish that he was more like your husband. It would be nice if *I* could just pick something up and he wouldn't care enough to argue but just wear it. *sigh* grass is always greener right?
ReplyDeleteHahaha my husband is the same way. If it weren't for me, he would own no cloths. What-so-ever!
ReplyDeleteHa, that's too funny!!!
ReplyDeleteLiterally last night I pulled the Hub's favorite blue & white striped Nike polo out of the dryer & it had finally had it - the tiny little holes & thinning fabric along the fold of the polo's collar had finally given out & turned into one big, gaping hole.
I used it to swaddle the pup & break the news to the Hubs. He was distraught. Seriously.
At least I didn't see any holes in your Hub's polo... : - )
D hates to shop. He has a few polos he wears over and over. Sometimes I drag him to the mall and make him buy new clothes...LOL.
ReplyDeleteAww thats cute!! Yes.. men LOVE their polos!
ReplyDeleteBrent has like 10 that have been around for years too!
He doesnt always want to go shopping.. but its better that way. Because when he shops.. he SHOPS! His clothing cost about 1,000 times more than mine.. 2 pants and a shirt could easily be $1,000. So.. i'd rather him just wear what he has.. and every so often go buy something new :)
Guys are tricky!!
My hubby actually likes to shop. I too, like Jules, wish he wouldn't care enough to argue so I could just buy him something that he would wear. He is picky. I love him nonetheless! ha! Have fun on your shopping spree!
ReplyDeletehahahha!! This is so my husband. He puts on t-shirts from Abercrombie that he had in high school. umm... not ok!! If I didn't do his clothes shopping he would never have anything new. I'm so glad I'm not the only one that deals with this.
ReplyDeleteMy husband had a t-shirt he owned for six years that was originally black but had faded to a light gray by the time we got married and he wore it like 2-3 times a week. I "accidently" lost it when I did his laundry. We are in desperate need of shopping too!
ReplyDeleteMy husband LOVES to shop . . . and not in a metro way, he just really likes to look nice. In fact, I'm pretty sure he has more expensive taste than I do and would wear a brand new Lacoste polo everyday if we could afford it!
ReplyDeleteOn the flip side, he still has clothes in his closet from high school. He doesn't wear them, he just CAN'T throw them out!
I forgot to comment on the fact that I have the same shorts from 2005 as well and are in 2 of those pictures. Guess what ? still have them and wore them just a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteHahaha. Love you!
Well I have to admit that I too have a husband who certainly enjoys to shop. He also loves to look nice & seems to have quite expensive taste as well. Good luck!
ReplyDeletehaha my husband HATES shopping. I mean, he'll go in and buy ONE pair of socks but really he needs like 15! he still wears a shirt that his grandpa gave him when he was 9. it was huge on him then and fits him now but the entire bottom hem is only hanging on by the two side seems. you can no longer even tell that it was a redwings shirt or what player it was for. the worst part is, he'll try to wear it out to dinner and stuff! it's awful.
ReplyDeleteAt least it doesn't have a hole in it...lol.
ReplyDeleteMy husband shops for himself and I shop for him, it's pretty much 50/50.
haha this is too funny. My hubs has pretty good style, but he hates buying clothes. HE has had the same 10 button up shirts for years!
ReplyDeleteMy husband doesn't mind shopping but more often than not, if we go somewhere, he'll be wearing a polo shirt. With shorts, jeans, khakis, whatever. It's like he doesn't realize other types of shirts exist. Oh well, at least he looks hot in them :-)
ReplyDeleteyes!!
ReplyDeletebut I think that's just a metro LA thing. Plus when Josh has meetings with Ryan Seacrest he can't DARE look like a hobo. :) hahah
Love the time-phased photos. Hilarious. I only have a select few guyfriend who like to shop for clothes and unfortunately my fiance' is not one of them. Hey, at least the polo is a classic! And it is not a gross college t-shirt or even worse high school sports team shirt he is still wearing constantly.
ReplyDeleteHah! My husband is the exact same way. He's 30, and just recently I forced him to throw away some t-shirts he's had since MIDDLE SCHOOL. I kid you not. I literally have to force him to buy new clothes, and then he gets all happy with his new clothes and wonders why he doesn't buy new stuff more often.
ReplyDeleteOh, and the one guy I dated who liked to shop as much as me turned out to be gay. Surprise surprise.
you're not alone. my fiance HATES shopping...unless, of course, it is at Best Buy or Bass Pro Shop :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband likes to "Shop" as in LOOK at clothes, but he rarely EVER buys anything! He still wears shirts from a LONG LONG Time ago!
ReplyDeleteMy husband will go to a store just to see what "deals" are out there!
ha. He is just sooo frugal...and I LIKE to spend! :) SO works for me! :)
My boyfriend actually likes to shop for clothes. It's not his idea of a perfect saturday but he'll do it when he needs to. And I like the fact that he realizes on his own when he needs to ;-) I guess I'm lucky ! (Oh and did I mention he knows how to shop for ME, too ? Hehe)
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend hates shopping unless it's at REI (the outdoors store). I swear he rotates the same shirt and pants so that he doesn't wear them back to back, but still wears them frequently.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the money, I'd go shopping for him LOL
My hubby LOVES to shop...more than me. He loves clothes and shoes...it drives me crazy. He is always claiming he needs new things when he clearly does not. We have a seriously lopsided closet and some old credit card debt (pre-mrs eyecansee) to prove it. Luckily I can keep the spending under control now that I rule the checkbook! :) I would die to have your problem! Ha!
ReplyDeleteomg this post is hilarious..poor matt
ReplyDeletei have the opposite problem... my hubby loves to shop for pretty much anything except groceries. awesome. we can be outfitted to the finest and go hungry. sweet.
ReplyDeleteI can definitely relate! My fiance still wears his high school senior year T shirt-from EIGHT years ago!
ReplyDeleteMy husband doesn't mind shopping for clothes but thankfully (for me) he would rather buy me clothes! :) This is a positive of course except that he needs new clothes! :) I have the same problem with my husband. He still has shirts from high school (ten years ago) that he wears!
ReplyDeleteThis is why they need us...my husband definitely does the same thing...what would they do without us? :)
ReplyDeleteThe polo pictures to capture the years are so great! I think everyone has some item they just have to hold on to .... or because it's easy and their use to it!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha that's hilarious. The boyfriend is the same way.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! My husband loves to look nice but hates to actually do the shopping. He will if he has too, but he is surely not walking around the mall just checking things out to see what he wants...he always has a plan!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely hysterical!!! My hubs is the same exact way...I always find myself saying, "Babe, you've worn that shirt in the last THREE Facebook Albums..."
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious b/c my future mr is the SAME way! he would much rather spend money on hunting gear or golf equipment than a $40 tee from Express...this leaves me to shop for him, which is ok.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my world-except replace the blue polo with anything that resembles a gray OSU tshirt! When my parents or sister ask what to get Jason for Christmas/his birthday/whatever, I say CLOTHES as long as it's not scarlet and gray...because he has PLENTY of that stuff already. He is still bummed that I won't let him wear carpenter jeans anymore, for crying out loud!
ReplyDeleteSuprisingly, Big Man doesn't mind! :)
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong he still sports the same shirts from like 3 years ago but if I say he needs a new one, he'll get one.
my husband wears polos EVERY day! I don't think his could last this long! I always pick em out and buy em!
ReplyDeletehahha trust me my husband is the same way so I know the feeling, guys are so different than girls:)
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the exact same way! In fact, the only reason he has clothes is that I love to shop for anyone and everyone! Lucky for him!!
ReplyDeletemy husband wore a similar blue polo to my high school graduation, his high school graduation, and my sister's high school graduation. 3 consecutive years. and he still wears it... 3 years later. i should buy him a new one... :)
