Hello, Michigan.

This is where I will be spending the next 4 days. Not too shabby, huh?!

Michigan, here we come! Hubs, Charlie and I are heading to beautiful Silver Lake, MI this weekend for a family reunion and I could not be more excited.

We are staying three days with hubs grandparents, who I just love. And I know Grandma T reads my blog occasionally, so I want to give her a quick shout out! She is a great little lady, and is also pretty stylish and a great dancer. She definitely has moves we have never seen and her wardrobe is pretty fabby! And I know that since I love her and Grandpa T so much, I am bound to love the rest of the extended family I have yet to meet. One of the many cool things about marriage is that you gain a whole new family. And I definitely got lucky in this department :)

So since the reunion isn't until Saturday morning, hubs and I will basically have all day Friday and most of the day Saturday to hang out and explore. I have heard great things about the beautiful lake, and also the sand dunes! Although regardless of what my husbands says, I will not be riding 4-wheelers up and down mountain high sand dunes. Hello? Has he met me? I am pretty sure that I am the clumsiest, most accident-prone human being currently alive. {the rest are 8-feet under, and I refuse to join them.}

So, in the meantime while he is off partaking in dangerous activity, Charlie and I will be sticking to what we know how to do best: shopping and eating. (obvi) I have investigated and found some pretty cute restaurants and local shops I am dying to see. But one thing I know I definitely won't be buying is Michigan crap. Haha. Sorry, you don't stand a chance with this Buckeye fan.

So, needless to say we are revved up and ready to go! Even Charlie has his little doggie suitcase packed. I am really looking forward to a nice and relaxing weekend getaway with my boys and the fam.

Why I Love My Husband.

{A few blast from the past pictures!}

I have been in a very lovey dovey mood lately!

***So warning: this post is mushy mushy***

And if you stop reading now, I will understand. :)

_______________________________________

He inspires me. He is so smart and gifted. I just love to watch him think.

He's a good listener and he never gives up on me. He always makes me feel like the best is yet to come.

He is balanced. He helps me stay reasonable and level-headed. (which for me is always sometimes hard)

He is the hardest working man I know. This man seriously never complains…ever. He always has some project going, and it exhausts me just trying to keep up with him.

He is so committed to making our marriage the best it can be. He reminds me all the time that he has promised to love me unconditionally-- through his words and actions. There's nothing like being reminded every single day that you are loved and adored.

He's not intimidated by my success. He supports my every passion and applauds my achievements, no matter how big or small they may be.

He compliments me every day. And he means it. Even things I do horribly. Like cooking. He is so encouraging.

He believes the best about people. He never jumps to conclusions, he gives people a second (third, fourth, fifth) chance, forgives quickly and encourages me to do the same. "You never know what kind of day they had," he says all the time. I really hope to adopt this attitude some day.

He never takes life too seriously. He smiles a lot and is always laughing and joking. His laughter and optimism is contagius!

I am so thankful for my babe. <3

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Priorities Shmiorities

Dear Husband,

I'd like to mention, that yesterday I was a good little wifey and I even cleaned the house. Also, I think you are very cute. And smart. And sexy. And you're totally the greatest.

Now what do you say that we just forgo paying the mortgage this month?

And maybe not next month too?

Love,

Your adoring {and new shoes deprived} wife.

June? Already?

It’s already June. WHOA. Can anyone tell me where this year has gone, because I really can’t figure it out?!

I survived Hubs and I both survived the trip home and managed to have another fantastic weekend with friends and family. I am back with tons of pictures!

Saturday morning we left pretty early to go to the Indians/Yankees game. The game didn't start until 7 p.m. but hubs and his friends organized a tailgate party. I swear, I never heard of tailgating for a baseball game until I met hubs. But this guy will tailgate for anything. *Le sigh*

Moving on. Thankfully, I was not the only girl there. So while the boys played corn hole and cooked out, the girls ate and chatted about anything and everything (more specifically, J&K+8, or now J-K+8).

{my sissy and I before we left!}

{and again}

{hub and his brother}

{us!}

{playing corn hole. he prides himself on his perfect technique, but I just think he's a hottie! }

{at the baseball game~!}

And while we were away, Charlie was having his own fun with my sister. I swear I sometimes get jealous of my dog. Is that wrong? But I am not kidding when I say that *he has the life*. For example, while we were gone, my sister took him to the pet store, bought him freshly-baked doggie doughnuts and then took him to an exclusive doggie beach park, called Bow Wow Beach where they spent all day. Needless to say that once we came home, he was out.

{on his way to Bow Wow beach.}

The rest of the weekend, we spent some time with our neighbor baby! Can we talk about how stinkin' cute this little guy is? Not to mention that he is the world's best baby. Of course. Just my luck. Why can't I be stuck watching a baby that constantly screams and cries? Then I wouldn't want any. But being around this little guy, I've been feeling some urges. But it was probably just gas. Right? There's still stuff I want to do before I start peeing on $15 plastic sticks. :)

I hope you all have a fabulous beginning to your week.

She's Somebody's Hero

She's never pulled anyone from a burning building
She's never rocked Central Park to a half a million fans, screaming out her name
She's never hit a shot to win the game
She's never left her footprints on the moon
She's never made a solo hot air balloon ride, around the world,
No, she's just your everyday average girl but
She's somebody's hero

A hero to her baby with a skinned up knee
A little kiss is all she needs
The keeper of the cheerios
The voice that brings Snow White to life
Bedtime stories every night
And that smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero

She didn't get a check every week like a nine-to fiver
But she's been a waiter, and a cook and a taxi driver
For twenty years, there at home, until the day her girl was grown
Giving all her love to her was her life's ambition
But now her baby's movin' on, and she'll soon be missin' her
But not today, those are tears of joy runnin' down her face
She's somebody's hero

A hero to her daughter in her wedding dress
She gave her wings to leave the nest
It hurts to let her baby go down the aisle she walks right by
Looks back into her mother's eyes
And that smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero

Mom I love you, today and every day. :)

A Big AWWWW.

*Gloating Alert*
*Gloating Alert*

*Gloating Alert*

i love flowers….all types of flowers...my favorite flower will change from time to time, depending on my mood & the season….but no matter what i love flowers, they make me happy. Not to mention that they are a perfect little pick-me-up.

So, when a big floral box arrived this morning in my office, I felt kind of goofy giddy like a teenager receiving flowers from her first crush. *all together now- awwweee*

How cute. My husband makes me feel special and super-duper happy every single day, but it is always nice to be reminder how much I am loved and adored. Matt is really such a thoughtful man. Now what was even more touching, was the romantic card that came with the flowers. I'm not going to share what it said, but it was so well-written and adorable that it put a permanent smile on my face. I still can't stop smiling. Not to mention that now my office and I are feeling’ Springy, baby!

Thank you babe for being so considerate and caring and for making me sooooo happy. You are my world and I love you :-*

Weekend Recap

Hubby and I had an eventful and fun weekend. It was pretty action packed, which for us is kind of unusual :) Neither one of us has been in a going out mood for a while, but this warm weather definitely helps drag us out of the house. I cannot wait until summer time!

On Friday, I felt like death crap. That is until I came home from work and took the most amazing 3 hour nap. I woke up around 8 feeling much better. Hubby and I met up with some of our friends for drinks and decided to go to the Funny Bone comedy club to see Joe Rogan. The show was sold-out and fantastic. They guy is actually pretty funny. My cheeks hurt the whole night. And, at one point, I looked over at my husband and he was laughing so hard, he literally had tears streaming down his face. I totally wish I would have taken some pictures but my camera batteries were dead. I'm sorry to disappoint you all.

On Saturday, I went to my neighbor's baby shower and I will have to admit that I had a great time. Normally, something about baby showers creeps me out. Not sure if it's the fact that everyone there is either a.) pregnant or b.) has babies. And hence I feel as if I have nothing worthy to contribute to the baby talk, except for the random grin and nod. So, I usually feel out of place. But this was different. I actually found other baby-less, not-expecting women, which made me happy. And instead of babies, we talked about puppies. Which I am more than fine with :) Anyhow, the shower was a blast! And after spending 2 hours at Babies R Us, I was thrilled she loved our gift. I decided to buy her an adorable and trendy Amy Coe Changing Diaper Bag in Chocolate Swirl as well as a few other matching accessories. I also picked up a few cute onesies including two that say I'm a Big Deal and a I heart long hugs.

I cannot wait for baby A to arrive. I offered up hubby and I as a free babysitting service.

Saturday night, we went to a brand new dueling piano bar that just opened in downtown called the Big Bang. We went with a large group of friends and stayed out all night. Not to mention that it was 70 degrees out and so I was relieved to leave my winter coat at home and not have to carry it around all night. Anyways, here are some pics!

Charlie's Got Style

First of all, thank you all for your compliments and sweet comments about our little guy. Charlie and I really appreciate it :)

However, recently, I have been spending hours a few minutes online shopping for a full wardrobe few things for munchkin.

Here is what I am thinking:

Doggie Set

Pretty cute, huh?

Hubby calls it excessive, but I call it necessary. I always thought putting clothes on dogs was for decoration until yesterday. We took Charlie out and he was shivering like a leaf. Hubby is still totally against walking a "little dog with clothing." But I think the items in the pic above could be considered "manly" enough to walk the dog in public with. Right??

I can only imagine the abuse our bank account is going to take once we have kids. Geesh.

To my blog readers...♥

This past Saturday, we welcomed a new addition to our family!!!

...I present to you our precious wiggly, cuddly furbaby Charlie. He is a 2 pound, 8-week old, King Cavalier Spaniel. :) Words cannot express how absolutely ecstatic we both are to have this beautiful bundle of puppy love! Our little man is incredibly gentle, kind and smart and he is adjusting nicely!

Here are a few pictures of the love of my life :) ♥

I will continue to update the blog as we follow Charlie’s tentative footstepts (or is that pawsteps?) into adulthood. So stay tuned!

A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost

Happy Birthday Sis!

19 years ago on this day my little sister was born... I will never forget the day my parents brought her home. I was six years old and was fully content being the only child. And, I wasn't exactly thrilled to become an older sister and share the attention. But the day my parents brought her home, I fell in love. She was the cutest little thing I had ever seen. And even then I knew that my life would never be the same.

Fast forward 19 years... My sister is my best friend in the whole entire world. I can honestly say that she is the most amazing human being with the biggest heart. And even though our rooms are no longer separated by one wall, we are now closer than we had ever been. She is the one person that can make me laugh so hard that I cry and is really the only person that has been there through 'everything.'

And here is a little 'blast from the past':
