Back to Reality

Ahhh, we are back. Back to r-e-a-l-i-t-y. And although I am not super thrilled about that, I am excited to catch up on all of your lives and tell you all about our fantastic trip!

Our vacation was incredible! We had the best time.. and for the very first time since I think the day I started to travel was BORN, I tried (key word here) super hard to barely plan a thing. Normally I make schedules and itineraries and lists of restaurants I want to try that I look up beforehand, and map out each and every place we'll go in advance... But this time, we tried not to do any of that. I wanted this trip to be relaxing and enjoyable for both of us, without having to worry about rushing off to do tours, or feeling pressured to do something on the list.
And mission accomplished! The trip turned out to be great and relaxing, which was just what we wanted.

Our stunning hotel ended up being in a great and super convenient part of town with close access to a lot of the main attractions either by walking or a short metro ride. This was fantastic! So, if you go to DC, stay at the Omni Shoreham. Please? You'll love it. I promise. So we saw pretty much everything to see in the city itself... all the monuments, famous buldings, streets and cathedrals. We even made time to go up to Georgetown's gorgeous campus and walk around a little. And with the weather gods answering our prayers, we had sunny and 75-80 degree weather the entire time! Yay.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures! :)

Phew. What a weekend, right?! Even though we had an amazing time, we did miss our little baby. I was so happy to be home and reunited with Char! I seriously thought about him every minute of every day. Hope everyone else had a great weekend :)

Who had an awesome weekend? I did! I did!

It's Monday night and I'm still wondering where our three day weekend went? But I guess time flies when you are having fun. And we had a blast in Michigan!

I really had the best time :) As a little boy, hubs used to spend most of his summers there, so it was so special to see all the places he used to go to as a child, and listen to him as he told me about his favorite memories. And I loved spending time with his family, especially his grandparents. They are such amazing people, and I enjoyed getting to know them better.

And let me just tell you, that the scenery in Michigan is breathtaking. It is a wonderland of beautiful lakes, pretty beaches and lush, stunning landscapes! And I still cannot believe that my whole life I have lived a relatively short drive from this state and have never been.

But what I can say is that we definitely will be going back!

Hello, Michigan.

This is where I will be spending the next 4 days. Not too shabby, huh?!

Michigan, here we come! Hubs, Charlie and I are heading to beautiful Silver Lake, MI this weekend for a family reunion and I could not be more excited.

We are staying three days with hubs grandparents, who I just love. And I know Grandma T reads my blog occasionally, so I want to give her a quick shout out! She is a great little lady, and is also pretty stylish and a great dancer. She definitely has moves we have never seen and her wardrobe is pretty fabby! And I know that since I love her and Grandpa T so much, I am bound to love the rest of the extended family I have yet to meet. One of the many cool things about marriage is that you gain a whole new family. And I definitely got lucky in this department :)

So since the reunion isn't until Saturday morning, hubs and I will basically have all day Friday and most of the day Saturday to hang out and explore. I have heard great things about the beautiful lake, and also the sand dunes! Although regardless of what my husbands says, I will not be riding 4-wheelers up and down mountain high sand dunes. Hello? Has he met me? I am pretty sure that I am the clumsiest, most accident-prone human being currently alive. {the rest are 8-feet under, and I refuse to join them.}

So, in the meantime while he is off partaking in dangerous activity, Charlie and I will be sticking to what we know how to do best: shopping and eating. (obvi) I have investigated and found some pretty cute restaurants and local shops I am dying to see. But one thing I know I definitely won't be buying is Michigan crap. Haha. Sorry, you don't stand a chance with this Buckeye fan.

So, needless to say we are revved up and ready to go! Even Charlie has his little doggie suitcase packed. I am really looking forward to a nice and relaxing weekend getaway with my boys and the fam.

Where Dreams Come True :)

I hate.the.alarm.clock.

I was off in a deep beautiful sleep dreaming of sitting on the beach under a perfect sunny sky drinking mimosas in an adorable bikini. The breeze is perfect, just enough to blow little wisps of hair across my face but not enough to throw sand in my eyes. The air is quiet and there's not a cloud in the sky. Then I was suddenly interupted when I heard a shrill high pitched beeping..for a moment, I looked around on the beach trying to figure out what the noise is only to open my eyes and realize it's my alarm clock..no more Florida.. and back to reality!

So, after a week of fruity drinks and hot weather, sleeping in and soaking up the sunshine, it sure was a rude awakening waking up to the alarm this morning. But nonetheless, I feel so lucky to have spent a week at the happiest place on Earth!

Our vacation was unforgettably romantic.

I love Disney, always did and always will!!! We really had a fabulous time! We stayed in the suite that was to die for. The food was really good everywhere we went and the service received was off the charts.

I haven't uploaded any of the pictures from my camera yet, but here is pic from Disney's PhotoPass website.

I will be back tomorrow with a more detailed vacay recap + more pictures, but now I must return to "real life" aka dirty laundry, a messy house, bills, etc. And my suitcase suitcases are still not completely unpacked. And while I do that, I am also going to eat junkfood and watch approximately 20,000 reality tv recordings filling up my dvr.

I hope everyone had a fabulous week/weekend. I can't wait to catch up on everything I missed!

Disney World- 3 weeks!

I have exactly 21 days to go and I’m already like a kid waiting for Christmas. I simply can't wait.

I plan on starting to shop for vacay clothes today, and am so excited. I may have gotten a suitcase full few things already, but today I am going full force. Nordstrom, watch out. I am attacking your racks! As I sit here, I am smiling just thinking about it. :)

21 days!!!

Nashville Pictures!

(Why, yes, I did wear pretty much the same outfit in most of these pics…but that's what happens when you see everything in the same day. and hubs laughed at me when I offered to bring an outfit to change into ;))

Edited to Add: I did get about 3-4 inches cut a few days before we left for Nashville, so my hair is definitely a lot shorter in these pics. Actually, I think it's the shortest my hair has been in probably 3 years! But I love it and it looks much healthier :)
