S-O-S please someone help me!

It’s a sad day, ladies. My flat iron's dying a slow but sure death.

I’ve had the same straightener since the beginning of time college and needless to say I am very attached to it. That flat iron and I have been through it all. And finally, it's time to say goodbye.

And so yesterday I began my hunt for the perfect flat iron and I am completely overwhelmed with way too many options! So, I need YOUR help! I know that you ladies have gorgeous, gorgeous hair!

If you have a flat iron that you love, please leave me a comment and tell me all about it.

So far I have looked into a Sedu, Solia and HAI and they all seem to have great reviews and the same features. So, I’m torn. Please help me out.

My hair will thank you for it.

  1. I have the CHI turbo and love it! Before that I had only owned cheap $25 irons and I'm so glad I finally splurged on a nice one. The turbo version has this little velvet cover where you hold on to it so you're less likely to burn yourself (though I'm clumsy and still manage to sometimes). It also heats up SO quickly-- we're talking like a minute and a half till it's ready to go. Love it!

  2. I like my chi. Granted, I've had it forever as well, but it does the job.

  3. I have the pink Chi Ceramic flat iron and it's the best one I've ever had, I got it 3 years ago and it still works like it's brand new. It's perfect, I'll never buy another brand! I would definitely look into one of those :)

  7. I had a kioseki (sp?) that lasted about 6 months but I did love it. Now I've had a Chi for about 2 years and love it even more. I'm definately a Chi lover!

  8. I have the Solia and it is the best flat iron I've ever had. I had the Chi Ceramic for years until it shorted out & then I got an exact replica. Three years later, it shorted out too. I decided to go with the Solia after I heard great reviews from Chloe of the Chloe Conspiracy... and it works WONDERS! I have naturally thick curly hair and it makes it pin straight. I like that it has temperature gauge on it, whereas the Chi didn't. I ordered mine from Folica.com and they have free shipping. I ordered it on a Thursday with the standard free shipping and it was on my doorstep THE VERY NEXT DAY! Only wonderful things to say about both the Solia & Folica! Good luck!

  22. I used to have a CHI and it was okay, but I have a lot of hair and it seemed to take a long time to flat iron my hair and I went through two of them in like 1 year. so I got a "Paul Mitchell Pro Tools Express Ion Style Hair Straightener". It is AMAZING!! I love it!! It's a bit pricey but I've had it for almost 2 years and no problems and no sign of quitting. Good luck on your hunt for a new flat iron! =)

  27. You should try the Japanese Thermal Straightening that you can get at the salon and it keeps your hair straight for 6-9 months with none of the fuss and time commitment. For touchups I use the CHI.
