IT’S AN END OF AN ERA.

After six seasons of fake drama, long and uncomfortable staring over meals, and fights over cocktails (that no one seems to pay for), The Hills is coming to an end tonight. And for reals this time.

(moment of silence please….)

I am sad. Really sad.

From LC and Jason’s epic break-up to Whitney’s departure to New York to the crash and burning of Lauren and Heidi’s relationship, we’ve been through it all. Tonight’s going to be like saying goodbye to your best friends on the last day of sleep away camp. Or packing up at the end of freshman year.

After faithfully following for 101 episodes, seeing it all end in less than 6 hours will be tough. But it’s a good thing I won’t have to sob in the corner by myself watch it alone. Thank goodness for good friends!

Will you be tuning in?

No One Said It Would Be Easy.

{hope this provides a little comic relief to you all ;)}

A little while ago I announced my plan to run a 5K. I'm sure everyone knows how that goes. It creeps up, you anticipate it with dread, and inevitably end up pushing the workout start date farther back. BUT not this time. I'm determined.

And as much as I would sell every single one of my fabulous bags and shoes for a miracle cure to look like a SI model, unfortunately I know I won't just wake up one day, look in the mirror and see Marissa Miller staring back at me. And, my cute butt jeans aren't going to just button themselves. Le sigh. So I gotta do what I gotta do.

As a result, for the past couple of weeks, every other day (in rain, sleet, blizzard & snowmageddon conditions), with Real Simple magazine and my iPod in hand, I have kept trucking to the gym. And I have to say that I am now starting to get to the point where I am actually enjoying it. Thank you, Lady Gaga.

The feeling that I get as I am walking out of the gym is undescribable. Like my hubs says "The soreness is the weakness leaving your body." I kinda like that visual imagine. Hasta la vista weak self!

I am slowly starting to find a balance stilettos and sweatpants, and I have to say I am loving it!

I don't like New Year's Resolutions.

Good Morning Dolls! I know I've been absent from the blog this week but it's because I've been eating cookies and sitting on my couch VERY busy, trying to adjust to reality and being back to work.

Photobucket

So, instead of taking a nap underneath my desk continuing to be a blog-lagger, I am going to tell you about some of my New Year’s resolutions additions. This year I am adopting a new attitude about these so called resolutions, and calling them my new additions instead. I don’t know about you, but I associate the word resolution with a lot of pressure and expectation.

And really, who wants that? It almost insinuates that there are things that we need to change, and I think we all do a pretty fabulous job already being ourselves. So the key is to set some really menial additions that you'll have no choice but to keep, and then in a few years work it up to the harder ones like "be a better person" and "cure world hunger". ;-)

It's all about baby steps.

So here are a few of my realistic goals. They are, in no particular order:

Read more. Laugh more. Write more. Travel more. Learn more. Love more. And most importantly– blog more!

What is on your list?

Oh and happy almost-weekend! Hope all of you have some amazing since plans, since it looks like we may be snowed in!

A Friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway :)

This weekend was very productive and very eventful [in a good way.]

One of my close friends Kristen has been back in town from Colorado for several weeks, and I finally got to see her Saturday! There is nothing I love more than catching up with my girlfriends, and this one I miss every single day of my life. I miss the days when we used to see each other every day… [these are a few pictures from way way way back in the day, so be nice ;) ]

But one wonderful thing that I love about our friendship is that we can always pick up right where we left off, no matter how much time has passed. And we had a lot of catching up to do because talking on the phone is neither one of our strengths not to mention that it has been over a year since we had seen each other. And let’s face it, facebook creeping can only get us so far.

So, she came over around 4 on Saturday to get ready. After that we headed downtown to a small, cozy Greek restaurant that serves the most amazing Gyro’s in town [I am not just saying this. It had been voted the best gyro restaurant in the city for the last 6 years.] The restaurant was packed, but well worth the wait. Their wine selection is superb and the food, of course, is to die for. After we had gorged ourselves and downed more wine than anyone should clearly overstayed our welcome [we were there for almost 4 hours!], we headed to the local strip of bars for some much needed bar hopping and dancin’. We stayed until last call, very typical, and my lovely husband came to pick us up! We came back to our house, and stayed up another two hours just gabbing away. It was terrific.

Days like that make me realize just how lucky I am to have such great group of friends, and Kristen is certainly at the very top of that group! And as easy as it could have been for us to lose contact and never talk again, I am SO glad that we have stayed so close. And when she left Sunday morning both of us shed a little tear, and I hope that it’s not another year before I see her!

Sunday I totally slept in. I love getting up late and lounging around in my bed under the covers slowly letting my body awake from either a night of debauchery. There are few things in life that bring me pure, unadulterated, relaxing, happiness and lazy Sunday mornings are one of them.. So sunday I spent the day doing errands and chores for the house. And even though that may not sound like a lot of fun, I always enjoy it. I even like the most mundane of errands, like standing in long lines at Trader Joes to get my groceries or speeding frantically to my dry cleaners to keep my clothes from being donated to the cleaners by actually picking them up. The rest of the day, hubby and I just spent relaxing...

Hope all of you had a fabulous weekend and are having a good week. It’s SNOWING here today. Bahahaha.
Aaaaaand i’m done. Phew that was a long one. (Thats what she said ) ;)

Random thoughts...

My latest obsession: chopping cutting my hair. I don't know why, but these last couple days I swear I have spent hours searching for the 'perfect haircut.'

So far, I have found a couple possibilities. My hair is pretty long now, and I think I need to change it up a little bit. I am not a big fan of the short-short [Victoria Beckham] type hair on myself. But I am thinking something more along these lines:

Any thoughts/ideas?

I need help girls since the only feedback my hunky sidekick provides is 'i'm sure it's gonna look great babe.'
Very sweet but not so much constructive feedback. I mean who can blame him... this is a guy whose every haircutting experience has only ever required three words: "number two please." I tried to explain to him last night that in my world that just indicates a fast food meal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need positive reinforcement to muster up the courage and actually make an appointment. :)
happy thursday. xoxo <3>
