Oh....growing up

There once was a group of three best friends who decided to call themselves the "Terrific Trio". These girls met when they were sorority sisters in college, over five years ago [gasp!].

They laughed together. They cried together. They grew up together. They shared their wardrobes, dreams, fears, and goals in life---all while sharing the most amazing college experiences, too. They spent an obscene amounts of time together, analyzing the world/boys/school/life. And of course, they took an absurd number of pictures, to document their memories.

Then something crazy happened: they started getting big girl jobs, wearing diamonds on their ring fingers, dressing up in bridesmaid dresses, and [GASP!] moving to pursue their dreams. The Terrific Trio transitioned into life's next phase slowly but surely.

Well, this weekend the 1/3 of the terrific trio is moving halfway across the country for a wonderful boy and a new job. I have known about this move for a while now, but didn't know how to put into words my feelings and emotions. On one hand, of course, I am happy and excited with my entire heart that she is following her heart and going to a place that I KNOW will make her completely happy! On the other hand, I am selfishly sad. I will miss her. And always having her 15 minutes away, gave me a false pretense that this is how things were always going to be.

But I have to keep reminding myself that the story of our friendship will continue. And it will only be enhanced by emails, phone calls, and many flights :) There will be many more years of laughter, memories, and pictures to follow! I see many trips to FLOrida in my future and I cannot wait! :)

And speaking of pictures, we are spending this entire weekend with Molly before she moves, so I will definitely be back with more pictures next week!

Happy Friday everyone! :)

  4. I always say I miss high school when I saw my friends EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. You take that for granted, not realizing how special that is.

As you get older it time tries to pull you away but keeping up those friendships is SO important! Keep it up!

  7. Aw, that cannot be easy. I remember when my family and I moved (from NY to CA) and I had to leave my best friend behind. It was AWFUL. But I am proud to say that he and I, 18 years after we first met, are still each other's other halves despite the fact that he is now in Chicago and I'm here in Cali.

Have fun with your ladies this weekend!

  8. This is my life story. I miss the college days when all we did was hang out with each other. Now we are all so busy it is hard to make time for each other, but we do and when we do get together it is fun time all over again.

  15. I feel like I have somewhat of a similar story. I know it must feel so crazy, though! I live far away from a few of my girlfriends, and it is really hard. But, we try to get together 2 times a year - and I think in 2 weeks I'll get to see a couple of them!
