Diary of a rambling pregnant woman...

I am feeling completely overwhelmed.

With only 5 weeks left (yes, you read that right ohmygod holycrap 5 WEEKS) until our tiny, cute new little roommate arrives, I feel like I have NOTHING done. Every single second my brain (pregnancy brain too, may I add) is going crazy… like a swirling, raging tornado with things that I know we still need to do like, right now.

Finish thank you notes, wash and fold all baby clothes, finish nursery, find crib skirt, put away this mount Everest of baby gifts that’s currently occupying our dining room, write out a transition maternity plan for that little thing that is my JOB, pack the hospital bag, FIND A PEDIATRICIAN, clean our living area so that the protective services don’t immediately confiscate our child and I am sure a thousand and four more things that I am currently forgetting.

Yes, realistically, I know if our baby girl were to make her appearance tomorrow (don’t get any ideas in there!), we’d be perfectly fine with what we have. But as prepared and organized as I have felt this entire pregnancy, I feel like I am slowly starting to lose it. Sigh. Oh, and the fact that I woke up this morning to a quick realization that today is MAY FIRST, did not help AT ALL.

Tell me I am not alone?!

  2. You're not alone honey! Promise. It is very normal to want to make sure everything is in it's place before the babe arrives. It's called nesting. :) Hang in there you're so close!

  4. You will get it all done. I think of everything I have to do and it overwhelms the crap out of me. Little by little it will come together and everything will be perfect when your sweet little girl arrives. Nesting should start pronto :)

  7. You still have 5weeks! That is a long time! We moved both times when i was pregnant! Once was a week before my first child was born! Again, we moved an entire house one week before the second baby a month before. All a baby needs is the basics!

  8. You are definitely not alone! I also have 5 weeks and we just had our last shower yesterday so now I have to figure out what we still have left to buy, buy it, clean the house, get our hospital bag together, but the car seat in my car, etc. Jen is right we need to make a list and give ourselves some deadlines.

  11. Don't worry love! You will get it all done. Take a deep breath (as deep as baby girl will allow pushing up on all those organs) and let it out slowly. Things will be fine. Your baby girl will come home to the perfect house for her. No matter the state of cleanliness. It will all be ok.

  12. Totally not alone - and just know that you don't need to have EVERYTHING done, even though you might feel like you do. The baby will have food, shelter and love, and the rest is just details :) I think 98% of pregnant women have felt the way you are now - and the baby will come whether the kitchen floor is mopped or not!
