Our Birthday Weekend Adventure!

It's that time of year. The time when my husband decides where he wants to go for his birthday.

And this year he has to decided to kill me go camping.

I know I can be a lot of things, but "outdoorsy/woodsy" would not be one of them. (Stop laughing :)

I am a plumbing using, electric loving girl! And I can see no point in driving somewhere and pretending to be a homeless person for a weekend 'ruoughing it'. I don’t find half an inch of nylon that much of a thrill as protection. I despise creepy crawlers and I have been known to freak out at a sight of teeny weeny spiders. I also love sleeping, and when I don't get enough of it I end up looking like a tragic heroin chic wannabe.

All of that is okay, though, because I am bringing several bottles of wine we will be TOGETHER! And that's what matters. Right? I sure hope so!

In the meantime, I am trying to stay focused on the good things, like roasted marshmallows, hot dogs on a stick and sitting around the campfire with good friends, enjoying the night sky. {Although I still keep trying to tell hubs that we could have done all of these things in our backyard and he won't listen.. men!}

So we will be back tonight should be back Sunday morning. Please pray that I make it home alive, and if not, it was nice knowing you all.

Edited to Add: I l♥ you babe and if risking my life for you doesn't prove that, I don't know what does! see you under the tent :)

  2. You are so funny! I used to go camping every year for 7-10 days with my ENTIRE family - all 12 of us. Talk about craziness :-) I'm quite happy to be married to a guy who's idea of "roughing it" is anything less than 5 star! Have a great time!

  4. Too funny! Neither J nor I are "outdoorsy" in the least. The closest thing we have been to camping is a cabin in hocking hills chock-full of plumbing and electricity!

    Good luck!!

  6. You are so funny. I never used to like camping and hubs isn't a huge fan of it either but it has kind of grown us a bit. I don't mind it too much and actually get excited about going but only once every couple of years... not TOO often :)

Have fun - I'm sure you will come home with some funny stories :)

  8. I"m with Lindsey. That sounds just like my hubs and I am EXACTLY like you. We've been married for over 10 years and so far I've been able to avoid it. I'm just not sure how much longer he'll last before he drags me out into the woods for some God forsaken camping trip. LOL

    Good luck!!

  12. This cracks me up. Trust me, dear, I love my make-up and comfy sheets as much as the next girl, but there is definitely something awesome about being out in the middle of nowhere under the stars. And there is nothing better than being cozied up in a sleeping bag that smells like a camp fire! Mmm....I want to go camping, too :)Twenty bucks says you come back and tell us how much you enjoyed yourself!

  13. I hear ya. My boyfriends idea of a good time is hiking 9 miles in to the woods (cougar country!) to get to a secluded section of the river to fish, then camp. Middle of the woods = no cellphone reception. And no cellphone reception = no police when I get mauled by a cougar. And this isn't even for his birthday, this is a monthly thing! Atleast I'm slightly nature oriented, or else I'd be dead by now!

You said it right - men...!

  15. So fun! Hope you have a great time!

Camping always sounds like something I would want to do...but then I think about the bugs and sleeping on the ground and no showers...and then I come to my senses :)
